An analysis carried out for TU9 by the Federal Statistical Office confirms the leading position of the nine major technical universities for engineering degrees and doctorates. And: some ten percent of all students in Germany are registered at TU9 universities.

The need of industrial research and development offices for graduates with special knowledge in the area of Computational Sciences in Engineering (CSE) is growing considerably. In order to meet this demand, the internationally-oriented, bilingual Master of Science programme CSE has been established at the Technical University of Braunschweig. The international orientation which is underlined by offering English and German classes, and the interdisciplinary orientation which is supported by the cooperation of different scientific areas and institutes, extends the career chances of the graduates considerably.

The degree program »Mobility and Transportation« was introduced in the winter semester 2006/07. The graduates will have acquired problem-solving competence, which they can put into practice with their subject knowledge. Their integrated mixture of general and specialized skills enables them to take on strategic tasks and a high level of responsibility, especially with a view to a later management role.

The "Dresden International Graduate School for Biomedicine and Bioengineering" (DIGS-BB) at TU Dresden has been awarded funding under the German government's Excellence Initiative.
