SAP Research's Campus-based Engineering Center (CEC) at the TU Darmstadt was founded in January 2005. Darmstadt, located between the SAP headquarters in Walldorf and the international hub of Frankfurt/Main, has been selected by SAP Research to collaborate more closely with academic partners, research institutions, and industrial partners in the region. This move has been reinforcing SAP's long-standing relationship with researchers at TU Darmstadt – spanning over 20 years – and our strategic interest in their areas of investigation.
The research work focuses on the working environment of the future – an umbrella term for four research areas:
- Knowledge work in dynamic environments
- New models of interaction
- Novel software engineering methods
- Technologies for emerging economies
The goal is to create intelligent software environments within the business context that will react sensitively and adaptively to changes and – offering users many-sided or entirely new services.
