TU Dresden: M.Sc. Media Computer Science
Standard length of study: 4 semesters
The course is modular. The curriculum is divided into three semesters. It includes a compulsory module as well as compulsory elective modules that allow a specialization of the student’s choice. The selectable modules include specialization and supplementary modules as well as a bridge module. In the major specialization modules 60 credit points must be achieved and in the bridge module and the supplementary modules 12 credit points must be achieved. The areas of the specialization modules are described under "Course Contents". During the fourth semester, students work on their master’s thesis.
The master's degree program Media Computer Science is a research-oriented program.

In addition, add-on modules from one or more application contexts of Media Computer Science or core areas of Computer Science are to be selected.
The master's degree in Media Computer Science seeks to communicate to students the scientific knowledge in the field of media and computer science and to demonstrate specific applications of the field. The market of multimedia application systems develops dynamically and provides integrative and interdisciplinary projects in research and industry. Graduates of Media Computer Science are perfectly trained for working on these projects.
Prerequisite for admission to the program is a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science Media, Computational Visualistics, Digital Media and other closely related subjects. In addition, special expertise in Software Engineering, Media Capture, Processing and Design, as well as in the Design of Intelligent and Complex Distributed Systems is required. Tests will be taken to ensure those requirements.
