Some 30,000 students are enrolled in more than 85 courses. The main emphasis is on the engineering sciences. Roughly 40 per cent of our students study engineering, with a further 25 per cent enrolled in natural sciences, mathematics or computer science. Humanities, social sciences, business and economics, and medicine are also on offer. New, forward-looking interdisciplinary courses such as industrial engineering, biotechnology, materials science informatics, computational engineering science and computational mathematics have been introduced.
Cooperation beyond the boundaries of individual faculties is reflected e.g. in 13 collaborative research centres. Research projects open to students enable them to gain valuable experience at an early stage. Some 2,000 students graduate every year, and 700 gain doctorates.
