Culture Team of the Akademisches Auslandsamt (AAA - International Students Office)

The Culture Team of the AAA organizes a wide array of recreational activities for international students. In addition to numerous Germany-wide excursions, it offers parties, country evenings and language tandems.

Link Partner Program

The Link Partner Program is a student initiative of the TU Dresden that arranges contact between German and international students.

German and international students are matched as Link Partners through a contact form that includes information about the homeland of the applicant, his or her language skills and interests. Both Link Partners meet at a “Get-to-know” evening organized for new Link Partners and can then organize their own activities.

Erasmus Initiative of the TU Dresden

The Erasmus Initiative of the TU Dresden sees itself as a group representing the interests of international students at the Dresden university. It works to improve contact between international and German students.

Its assignments include, among other things:

  • Representing the interests of international students
  • Ease the settlement of international students in Dresden and at the TU
  • Student contact for questions and problems

Concrete actions:

  • Stammtisch (regular social meetings in a bar): always Tuesday at the Gutzkow Club
  • Excursions (for example in Swiss Saxony and to Leipzig)
  • Film evenings
  • Theater visits
  • Sports (Volleyball and soccer tournaments, river rafting on the Elbe River)

AEGEE Dresden

AEGEE (Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l'Europe), is a forum of European students with approximately 17,000 members in over 250 local groups. AEGEE was founded in 1985 in Paris. AEGEE is a non-profit and apolitical organization that tries to make the European idea a reality. AEGEE is not bound to any department; every student can join AEGEE.

The goal of the organization is to bring together students from all possible corners of Europe and different subjects of study, discuss all possible topics with each other, and just have a lot of fun. That one gets to know the event locations, somewhere between Trondheim and Antalya, between Las Palmas and Moscow, from another perspective that is usually closed to tourists is just a positive side effect. First and foremost, it is about meeting other students from Europe and dealing with other important topics outside of our regular course of studies.

Family and International Friends Program of the Studentenwerk Student Services

Local families and citizens bring international students into their homes and lives. The FiF Program asks the Dresdeners to make it possible for students to get a look at daily life behind the scenes.

There are no limits to possible activities together: visit museums, theaters, movie theaters or the opera together, take a trip into the surrounding areas, take a walk through the city, do sporting activities by hiking or cycling, and and and… The program and the frequency of activities are up to you and your program partner.

The arrangement of a partner is the duty of three student tutors of the "Family and International Friends" Program, FiF-Team for short. In addition to the arrangement duties, the program organizes group meetings and excursions for all participants and interested persons.

The Tutor Programme

In the Tutor Programme, German and international tutors help international applicants and students in their faculty in their course of study at the TU Dresden. For this purpose, support is offered BEFORE and DURING the course of study at the TU Dresden. The help at the beginning of the degree program is especially intensive because the most questions and problems exist in the first months. When organizational questions are cleared up, the content of the degree program is the center of attention.
