University development

In the past fifty years more than 1000 students, PhD candidates and professors have been educated at TU Dresden. To answer the interest in a German education with a German degree and to make it available to a broad social stratum, the Vietnamese-German Education and Research Institute (VDAFI) at TU Hanoi was founded together with the TU Dresden.


Within university structures, the VDAFI is located at the Department of Mechancial Engineering.


With the VDAFI four aims are pursued:

  • education in Hanoi with a broad basis to single out the most talented and motivated students for work in German
  • the continuing education for engineers and executives in a number of subjects, particularly in engineering
  • realization of research projects for Vietnamese and international corporations as well as research institutes
  • networking between Vietnamese and international business, institutes and centers of education.
