At the TUM these are managed by the Carl von Linde-Akademie [German only] – an institution named after the inventor, industrialist and former TUM professor. It is dedicated to the personal and professional further education of students, staff, as well as external specialists and executives. Committed to costumer and quality the institute provides practical, state of the art education courses with certification. At the same time its offers bring back a strong cultural and socio-scientific aspect to engineering.
An important part of the CvL-academy is the PROLEHRE initiative constituted to ensure revision of and quality in TUM education. Teaching staff members are provided with various options to improve didactics. The attention, with regard to recent research results and modern teaching materials, lies on the day to day academic practice, individual and collective training, as well as the acquisition of new skills and the internal reflection on one’s own teaching.
