International

For the Leibniz Universität Hannover, internationality is on the program. The departments, seminars and learning fields manage more than 2000 cooperations worldwide with partners in 95 lands on all continents. Next to traditional partnerships with the USA or in European countries, Asian countries as well as the Russian Federation are winning an increasing meaning. These cooperations are lived out, for example, through exchange programs for students and academics, collaborative research projects or summer schools. The international attractiveness of the Leibniz Universität Hannover shows itself also through the 12 % of students who come to us from abroad.

International degree programs are being built up further, like the "Graduate College" in the physics course of study, the Masters degree program "International Horticulture" in the Faculty of Natural Sciences or the interdisciplinary degree program "European Studies" in the Faculty of Philosophy.

The Hochschulbüro für Internationales/International Office (HI/IO) is a meeting point for international students at the Leibniz Universität Hannover. It executes greeting events for newcomers and arranges student tutors by request, who lend a helping hand during the first time period. Additionally, regular events are organized in which students from all over the world can get to know each other.

In cooperation with the Studentenwerk – Student Services –, the Hochschulbüro für Internationales/International Office offers international students help by the apartment search, online or in person. The costs for housing, food, health insurance, study materials etc. are between 500 and 600 euro per month.
