The ERASMUS Program offers students the opportunity to study at a European partner university.
Participants of this program are 25 member countries of the European Union:
Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Cypress.
Additionally, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway as well as Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey. Additionally, there are special agreements with Swiss universities.

On the basis of year-long bilateral exchange programs, the Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst (Ministry of Science, Research and Art) has made different agreements for the exchange of students between universities in the state of Baden-Württemberg and different state-run university systems in the USA, Canada and Australia.
Currently, the following states take part in this program:
Within this program, tuition is exempt for chosen participants; this would be amounts between 10,000 and 16,000 euros per year.
The participants only have to cover the costs of travel, insurance, and living costs.
Application deadlines:
The application deadline is August 31 for a stay starting the following winter semester of the next year (with Australia, for a stay starting in February of the following year).
Length of stay: one academic year
Application prerequisite: Intermediate Diploma

Under the name CLUSTER ("Cooperation Link between Universities of Science and Technology for Education and Research"), several technical universities in Europe have joined together in order to support the mobility of students.

EUCOR (“Europäische Konföderation der Universitäten am Oberrhein”) is a confederation of universities on the Upper Rhine River and was founded in 1989 with the goal of a closer collaboration on all levels, especially with students, by the following universities:
This makes possible the temporary visit at the universities named above, in which performance will be fully recognized. The students stay registered at their home universities so that tuition costs do not apply.
With this, the Karlsruhe student ID is valid as an EUCOR identity card, whose holder enjoys the same user rights and discounts as students registered there.
