Patenprogramm “Adoption Program” / Welcoming Service

The university’s Internationale Zentrum – Office of International Affairs
 - offers an “Adoption Program” as a special service for newly arrived international students. If desired, a Stuttgart student picks you up from the airport or train station and helps you during the first weeks after arrival for example by helping to take care of formalities and bureaucratic errands.

Orientation week for international students

With our Orientation Program we would like to make your first steps in Stuttgart easier:
In group sessions we will help you with the formalities, explain the German university system and provide tips for living and studying in Stuttgart. Experienced students will also offer study counselling for you and the program concludes with an excursion.

 

Please note that this Orientation Program is offered to students who arrive in April and October respectively and who do not participate in an intensive German course.

AEGEE Stuttgart

AEGEE (Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l'Europe), is a forum of European students with approximately 17,000 members in over 250 local groups. AEGEE was founded in 1985 in Paris. AEGEE is a non-profit and apolitical organization that tries to make the European idea a reality. AEGEE is not bound to any department; every student can join AEGEE.


The goal of the organization is to bring together students from all possible corners of Europe and different subjects of study, discuss all possible topics with each other, and just have a lot of fun. Through various events of the local groups, AEGEE practically supports European integration and cultural exchange. So develop friendships and personal contacts over country boarders.


The AEGEE organizes the following events:

  • Conferences and congresses
  • Summer Universities and student trips
  • Training course for the management of an international organization
  • International work and project groups

ICSC Stuttgart

The Internationale Studenten- und Akademiker Club Stuttgart e.V. ( ISCS) [German only] (International Student and Academic Club Stuttgart) is an independent academic group without national, religious and political connections. A main goal is the contact between international and German students and graduates of academic institutions and universities. With this, it serves towards international understanding and one can quickly meet students of different nationalities.


The ISCS organizes discussion evenings, lecture evenings, tours and other social events with international themes. The climax of the club’s work is the yearly Internationale Ball der Nationen, which has occurred more than 40 times!


Along with other institutions of Stuttgart’s universities, the club also strives to lend a helping hand to international students during the time of their stay in Stuttgart.
