TU9 Activities at the Virtual GAIN21

25–27 August 2021

TU9, the Alliance of leading Technical Universities in Germany, will participate with several events in this year’s virtual conference and Talent Fair of the German Academic International Network (GAIN) from August 25 to 27. In workshops, webcasts, panel discussions and at the Talent Fair, TU9 Representatives will provide advice on funding opportunities and career paths at TU9 Universities, which in the Unites States there is great interest in. 

At GAIN21, TU9 invites you to the webcast "Germany as an innovation powerhouse – political framework, funding opportunities and support structures for successful start-ups" with representatives from science, industry, politics and funding organizations (August 25, 2021, 10:00 am). Prof. Dr Malte Brettel, Speaker of the TU9 Committee Innovation & Transfer and Vice Rector for Economics at RWTH Aachen University, will discuss the framework conditions for innovations "Made in Germany" with Frank Bösenberg, Silicon Saxony e. V., Dr Anna Christmann, Member of the German Parliament Alliance 90/The Greens, Barbara Diehl, SPRIN-D – Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation and Dr Rainer Waldschmidt, HA Hessen Agentur GmbH and Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH. 

In the TU9 Workshop "Appointment: Application, Procedure, Dos and Don'ts" on August 27, 2021, 10:45 am, in German) the TU9 Executive Board, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfram Ressel, Rector of the University of Stuttgart, and Prof. Dr Volker Epping, President of Leibniz University Hannover, will answer questions about appointments in an interactive format. Participants can find out about the requirements for a successful appointment and which additional qualifications are advantageous with regard to global challenges and interdisciplinary research projects.

In the Working Group "Engineering Sciences", TU9 President Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfram Ressel will speak together with other representatives of the German higher education landscape about experiences, expectations and strategies and will give participants tips for their future career path (August 25, 2021, 10:00 am, in German).

TU9 Representatives will also participate in other webcasts and workshops such as "My Transatlantic Career – Dealing with Pitfalls, Learning from Others" (August 26, 2021, 9:15 am) and "Insights into Appointment Procedures – Dos and Don'ts" (August 27, 2021, 10:45 am, in German). 

At this year's Talent Fair, six TU9 Universities will present themselves and be available to answer any questions participants may have:
